NAPPE VIBRATION problem solved ...

In conjunction with our friends at MannPower, a permanent solution to the problem of 'Nappe Vibration' has been installed. This involved attaching steel plates, protruding above the weir crest, at intervals along the length of the weir. This will create a series of gaps in the nappe and thus disturb the conditions that cause the vibrations.

The proposed solution was installed on 19th January 2022 and, fingers crossed, the Nappe Vibration seems to have been tamed - and Steve is no longer subject to irate phone calls in the middle of the night from disgruntled neighbours!
